Congress: Losing charm, Not emerging as an option in UP

The Congress Party is not coming into view as an option in UP! Party leaders have great hopes that the party base is getting stronger under Priyanka Gandhi's command but the truth remains that due to Priyanka, Congress is getting media coverage but the strength of Congress is not visible on ground. 

The UP assembly elections will be held in a year and half and the rate at which Congress leaders are leaving and joining other parties shows little hope for Congress.  

According to reliable sources, the state committee formed by Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi is displeased with many leaders. It certainly is difficult for the congress leaders to stay in the party after the Party loses elections and is out of power. It is being said that after losing two consecutive elections, it was difficult for a leader of stature like Annu Tandon to remain in the party.  

Congress is believed to announce Priyanka Gandhi’s name as the face of Chief Minister in 2022 on the occasion of Congress's foundation day in December next month. The one and a half year time may help them build favourable atmosphere.

A senior Congress leader and former Union Minister hinted that despite Priyanka Gandhi working hard and creating an atmosphere in the media, if Congress does not fight in any one of the seven seats in by election, the bubble will burst and harm Party’s image in public.

Is Mayawati the weekest link in UP?

After the results of the 7 seats of UP, one thing has been decided that Mayawati has seen the biggest low in her political career in UP.
Compared to other parties, BSP has been very disappointing in the by-election.
Mayawati has been going through the bad days of politics since 2012. The party has also fallen behind in the election results. Bahanji’s power dynamics seem to have shifted and it would be interesting to see how she plans to fight the battle of 2022.

Mayawati, the BSP supremo, has been the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh for four times. The BSP has reached power with Dalit politics and had a golden period in Uttar Pradesh when its government ran with a majority from 2007 to 2012.

During this period, Mayawati executed all her projects like Ambedkar Park and Smriti Sthal Ambedkar Maidan in Lucknow, and similar constructions in Noida.

BSP failed to open the account in 2014 and finished third in 2017. In 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Mayawati took a chance as she shook hands with Samajwadi Party, forgetting the 24 years old hostilities between both the parties but the results were not favourable. 
Now the 7-seat by-election in 2020 is considered to be the trend of 2022, which seems to be disappointing for the BSP.
Moreover, in the past decade, the party's big leaders have left BSP and are still leaving. There was a time when Team 11, which was her troubleshooter, left Mayawati and after the departure of these second-order leaders, BSP seems to be getting weaker.
These 11 Commanders were -
Babu Singh Kushwaha, Swami Prasad Maurya, Naseemuddin Siddiqui, Brijesh Pathak, Jugal Kishore,  Dadu Prasad, KK Gautam, R K Chaudhary, Ram Achal Rajbhar, Tribhuvan and Ramveer Upadhyay. 
Former BSP minister Dadu Prasad says that the party and Mayawati have moved away from the idea and are working in the direction of BJP.
Journalist Rajendra Gautam, who has seen the BSP very closely, says that BSP is a synonym to Behanji and giving your opinion can be fatal in the party.

In such a scenario, it would be rather interesting to see what Mayawati plans for 2022.

Book Review - "My Feudal Lord"

All around the world, women face sexism. If we talk about the Indian subcontinent, the widespread and (accepted) chauvinism makes it worse for women to survive. Career, ambitions etc are still secondary to thousands of women battling domestic violence and abuse.

"My Feudal Lord" came out in 1991 where Durrani bravely writes about the choices she made in her life and their not so pleasant outcome.

Durrani divorced her husband and married Mustafa Khar, one of Pakistan's most eminent political figures hailed as the subcontinent's most celebrated Casanova. But her choice didn't go well as her marriage  soon turned into a nightmare. Mustafa Khar proved to be an extremely possessive, violent and jealous man who cut her off from the outside world. 

Tehmina was a  prisoner in this relationship for almost fourteen years and then she decided to discard the cage and rebel.

It wasn't easy for her to seek divorce from him. She lost all financial support and the custody of her children. Even her parents disowned her and friends left her alone too.

The repressive, partial society suppresses the weaker section's voice and women since always have been taught to be ‘ethnically mute’.

Tehmina divorced her first husband to marry Mustafa, dreaming about a fairytale which unfortunately turned into her worst nightmare.

Overall a good book about women's condition in a superficial society. Has vivid description of the brutality she underwent (alert if you are sensitive to such things). 

One should read this one. 

Book Review : Janta Store (English)

Plot: The story of the book revolves around four friends who are students of the university who get in contact with senior student leaders of the university after a fight with a hostel goon and then the life of these friends changes.

Review:  Janta Store is a market in Bapu Nagar, Jaipur which is the meeting point (adda) of youth.

The author has studied in the University of Rajasthan so the knowledge of the geography of the city as well as the (in)famous Rajasthan University election scenario is very well depicted in the book.

Anyone who has been a part of the University of Rajasthan in his student life will be able to relate with the content.

College Politics teaches all the tricks required to enter national politics. This novel exposes the planning & plotting and conspiracies of politicians are engrossed in casteism and dirty politics. 

Reading it was like turning the pages down once own life and re-living the student politics days the madness of University elections.

 

The language is easily understandable. There is no  unnecessary usage of tough or challenging words to show off one's literary command which I liked.

The book is understandable and relatable for all and sundry and has the capacity to be popular which it already is.

The writer has used his pen to successfully craft some sarcastic remarks on politics and caste based politics which are a treat to read.

Overall a good book in contemporary Hindi writing and should be read.

लिखने पढ़ने का शौक रखने वालों से एक सवाल!

क्या हो अगर आपकी लिखी / पढ़ी जा रही किताब का कोई क़िरदार जीवंत हो उठे? कोई किस्सा सच हो जाए? आप कहेंगे कि खूबसूरत संयोग सा है। 

लेकिन तब क्या हो जब मर्डर मिस्ट्री असल ज़िन्दगी में सच होने लगे?!! एक पब्लिश्ड किताब जो सफल हो चुकी हो, उसी के हिसाब से मर्डर पे मर्डर होने लगें? 

जैसे कॉर्पोरेट में नंबर्स के ऊपर किसी चीज़ को तरज़ीह नहीं दी जाती वैसे ही कमोबेश यही हाल हर फील्ड का होता जा रहा है। गलाकाट प्रतिस्पर्धा के चलते healthy competition और co-exist करने वाले फलसफे कहीं पीछे छूटते चले जा रहे हैं। ऐसे में हर कोई शक के दायरे में आता है। पाठक, पब्लिशर, यहां तक की खुद राइटर भी! कौन है जो खून पर खून कर रहा है और क्यों?

कहीं कोई पब्लिसिटी स्टंट तो नहीं जो खूनी खेल में बदल गया? 

इन ढेर सारे सवालों के बीच आपको छोड़ता है Abhilekh Dwivedi जी का नया उपन्यास "The Last Murder".

एक एक कर आठ कड़ियाँ आ चुकी हैं और हर बार सस्पेंस गहराता जाता है।  

कुछ यादगार वन लाइनर्स (जो अभिलेख जी का USP बन चुकी हैं) आपको यहाँ भी मिलेंगी, जैसे - 

"उसे पता था कि किस जगह अपनी उपस्थिति कैसे दर्ज करवानी है क्योंकि उसका मक़सद लेखन से राजनीति की और मुड़ना है और इसके लिए ग्राउंड पर पहचान या कहें कि रीच की बहुत ज़रूरत होती है।" 

या फिर -

नयी हिन्दी का भरपूर उपयोग इसे millenials के बीच ख़ासा लोकप्रिय बनाने की क्षमता रखता है लेकिन इसका सब्जेक्ट और कॉन्टेंट काफ़ी दमदार है और हर उम्र के लोगों को पसंद आएगा। 

अभिलेख जी की लिखी बाकी किताबों से काफ़ी अलग ट्रीटमेंट इस बार।  

हर कैरेक्टर well defined है और सबको अपना स्पेस मिला है।

5 अगस्त : इतिहास के पन्नों में

यूँ तो हर दिन का अपना महत्व है, अपनी कोई निराली बात है लेकिन क्या आप जानते हैं 5 अगस्त क्यों ख़ास है? हाँ, राम मंदिर और कश्मीर की वजह से सुर्खियों में है ये तारीख पर उसके अलावा भी इसका अपना महत्व है। आइये आपको बताएं कि क्या और कैसे -

• Ø  चाँद पर कदम रखने वाले दुनिया के पहले अंतरिक्ष यात्री नील आर्मस्ट्रांग का जन्म 5 अगस्त 1930 को हुआ था।
• Ø  प्रसिद्ध कवि शिवमंगल सिंह सुमन का जन्म 5 अगस्त 1915 को हुआ था।
• Ø  भारतीय क्रिकेटर वेंकटेश प्रसाद का जन्म 5 अगस्त 1969 को हुआ था।

यानि अलग अलग फील्ड से सम्बन्ध रखने वाले कई दिग्गजों ने 5 अगस्त के दिन जन्म लिया।

घर से बाहर वैसे तो आजकल पहले की तरह निकलना नहीं हो रहा होगा आपका लेकिन कहीं भी जाते हुए जिस चीज़ से आँखें चार होती हैं वो है ट्रैफिक लाइट्स।

• Ø  पहली इलैक्ट्रिक ट्रैफिक लाइट की बात करें तो वो 1914 में पांच अगस्त के ही दिन अमेरिका में लगाई गई थी। आपको एक दिलचस्प बात बता दूँ कि उस समय इसमें केवल हरी और लाल रंग की लाइट ही लगाई गई थी, एक रुकने के लिए थी और दूसरी चलने के लिए।

मशहूर लोगों और कुछ ख़ास घटनाओं की बात करें तो –

• Ø  5 अगस्त के ही दिन 1962 में मशहूर हॉलीवुड अभिनेत्री मर्लिन मुनरो अपने लॉस एंजेलिस स्थित आवास पर मृत पाई गईं।
• Ø  1963 में रूस ब्रिटेन और अमेरिका ने मॉस्को में परमाणु परीक्षण निषेध सन्धि की।
• Ø  साल 1991 में भारत में न्यायमूर्ति लीला सेठ दिल्‍ली उच्च न्यायालय में पहली महिला न्यायधीश बनीं।
• Ø  1888  की बात करें तो कार का अविष्कार करने वाले कार्ल बेंज ने अपनी पहली कार का पेटेंट 1886 में ही करवाया था लेकिन इस कार को लंबी दूरी तक अकेले चलाने का श्रेय उनकी पत्नी को जाता है. वे पांच अगस्त के ही दिन इस कार से 104 किलोमीटर किसी दूर के शहर गईं।
• Ø  और पांच अगस्त के ही दिन 1945 में अमरीकी हवाई जहाज ने जापान के हिरोशिमा पर परमाणु बम गिराया था।

हर दिन ख़ास होता है, अपने साथ कुछ खट्टे तो कुछ मीठे पल लाता है और पीछे छोड़ जाता है ढेर सारी यादें। चलिए, उम्मीद करते हैं, इतिहास के पन्नों पर 5 अगस्त 2020 का दिन कुछ प्यारा सा लिख जाये।

Life Skills are the skills that one needs to make the most out of life. Certain skills may be more or less significant to you depending on your life circumstances, your culture, beliefs, age, geographic location, etc.                                                                                                                                                                
When we talk about creativity, it matters as a life skill at any age and in all industries. It is a valuable    workplace skill because it can be a useful tool for developing new ideas, increasing efficiency and  devising solutions to complex problems.                                                              

Some of us have natural creativity skills and others can learn and develop it over time.Researchers say that the parts of our brain that we use in regular thinking are totally switched off when we think creatively while other parts of our brain that we do not use everyday are quite active.                                 

Whether you believe it or not, we are all creative by nature. Creativity is one of the most important characteristics of being human. It is one of the main traits that makes us successful as individuals.                                                                                                                                                                                                              

The trouble is that creative thinking is not usually emphasized or developed adequately after elementary school.  It’s encouraged in preschool and the early years but in most learning institutions, it slowly fades away as students are taught to get ready to run the rat race. And while doing so, we all tend to forget what a wise person said a long time ago – “The creative adult is the child who survived."

An organisation is not admired by the rules it lays or the zeroes it is able to add to the annual revenue but the way it follows its principles, the way it nurtures new talents and the way it treats its employees. 

Ethical leadership is crucial for the success of any business. Unethical leaders may bring a business short term success but they will also ruin the reputation of the organisation along with the trust people bestow in it because they focus on their own personal gain.

Time for organisations to spot the difference and put some muscle into improving the scenario.

All kinds of performing arts were meant to be appreciated and artists to be motivated but alas for our greedy and self obsessed "human" nature that people dread their own dreams and aspirations!

Thanks to some highly materialistic, insensitive barons of trade who are self proclaimed goodwill ambassadors of the almighty who claim to make careers and ruin them.

Everything has to run according to them and people are mere objects for them to be used as per their will and then to be tossed in the trash bins to be ported to dark, gloomy dumping yards of hopelessness where their self confidence and dreams die a slow death.

The sheer display of might and shameless open exhibition of unethical practices by the tinsel town bigshots is disgusting!

Now comes another story from Bollywood where #MarinaKunwar  claims that Music Industry's long time Monopolist #BhushanKumar tried molesting her as he expected sexual favours in return for the work he was "suposed to offer her later."

Famous singer Sonu Nigam has confirmed the same! 

I am outraged, appalled and somewhat scandalised! 

May justice prevail and the wrong one be punished!

21 जून, क्या है माया कैलेंडर का सच?!

क्या 21 जून को ख़त्म होगी दुनिया (🙄🤦🏻‍♀‍😆😆)

सेंट्रल अमेरिका में मैक्सिको बॉर्डर के पास ही एक देश है- ग्वाटेमाला। 1970 के दशक में ग्वाटेमाला में ज़मीन की खुदाई करने पर तिकाल नामक पूरा मंदिर निकला। आर्कियोलॉजिस्ट ने जब इस मंदिर की उम्र मालूम की तो हैरानी हुई क्योंकि ये करीब डेढ़ हजार साल पुराना था और फिर ग्वाटेमाला में कई और जगह ना सिर्फ मंदिर बल्कि पूरे के पूरे शहर मिले जिनका आर्किटेक्चर कमाल का था।

ये मायन सभ्यता के शहर थे। जो शहर मिले थे उनकी दीवारों पर कैलेंडर उकेरे गए थे। माया लोगों का दिन-रात, महीने, सालों की गणना करने का अपना तरीका था। इन्हीं कैलेंडरों को मायन कैलेंडर कहते हैं और इन्हीं से अब दुनिया के विनाश की भविष्यवाणी की जा रही है।

इसी कैलेंडर को आधार बनाकर साल 2012 में भी दुनिया को डराया गया था। तब कहा गया था कि 21 दिसंबर 2012 को दुनिया खत्म हो जाएगी लेकिन ऐसा नहीं हुआ। तो कहा गया कि कैलेंडर पढ़ने में चूक हो गई।

मायन कैलेंडर चांद के मासिक च्रकों और सूरज के सालाना चक्रों की गणना करके बनाया गया है। इसमें 13 दिन, 20 दिन और 260 दिन का का वक्त गिना जाता है। 20 तरह के कैलेंडरों से वक्त गिना जाता है। इनमें से तीन कैलेंडर सबसे अहम हैं। एक लॉन्ग काउंट, दूसरा ज़ोल्किन और तीसरा हाब।

इसमें हाब कैलेंडर के हिसाब से मायन सभ्यता में खेती होती थी। ज़ोल्किन कैलेंडर में 13-13 दिन की 20 अवधियां गिनी जाती हैं। ये धार्मिक रीति रिवाजों के लिए था और तीसरा कैलेंडर जिसे लॉन्ग काउंट यानी लंबी गिनती वाले कैलेंडर के हिसाब से ही अभी दुनिया का अंत बताया जा रहा है। इसमें 5,126 साल गिने जाते हैं। यानि मायन मान्यताओं के मुताबिक, ये मानव सभ्यता के चक्र की शुरुआत से लेकर अंत तक की अवधि है। अब इसी के हिसाब से कहा जा रहा है कि 21 जून 2020 को यानि आज दुनिया खत्म हो जाएगी।

दुनिया के खात्‍मे का यह दावा इस बात पर आधारित है कि ग्रेगोरिअन कैलेंडर को वर्ष 1582 में लागू किया गया था। उस समय साल से 11 दिन कम हो गए थे। ये 11 दिन सुनने में तो बहुत कम लगते हैं कि लेकिन 286 साल में यह लगातार बढ़ता गया है। कुछ लोगों का दावा है कि हमें वर्ष 2012 में होना चाहिए। इस दावे को वैज्ञानिक पाओलो तगलोगुइन के एक ट्वीट से और ज्‍यादा बल मिला है।

वैज्ञानिक पाओलो तगलोगुइन ने अपने ट्वीट में कहा कि जुलियन कैलेंडर को अगर फॉलो करें तो हम तकनीकी रूप से वर्ष 2012 में हैं। ग्रेगोरिअन कैलेंडर में जाने से हमें एक साल में 11 दिनों का नुकसान हुआ। ग्रेगोरिअन कैलेंडर को लागू हुए 268 साल (1752-2020) बीत चुके हैं। इस तरह से अगर 11 से गुणा करें तो 2948 दिन होते हैं। 2948 दिन बराबर 8 साल होते हैं। हालांकि बाद में वैज्ञानिक पाओलो ने अपना ट्वीट डिलीट कर दिया। वैज्ञानिक पाओलो के ट्वीट के बाद अब लोगों का कहना है कि 21 जून 2020 दरअसल, 21 दिसंबर, 2012 है।

हालांकि ये उन लोगों का इंटरप्रटेशन है जिन्होंने ना तो इस कैलेंडर को बनाया और ना ही काम में लिया।

वर्ष 2020 में पृथ्‍वी पर महामारी आई है, जंगलों में आग लगी है और टिड्ड‍ियों का हमला हुआ है और अफ़वाह फैलाने वाले लोग क्रियाशील हो गए हैं।

नेशनल ज्योग्राफिक की एक रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, माया लोग नहीं मानते कि कैलेंडर पूरा होने से दुनिया खत्म हो जाएगी। उन्हें लगता है कि इसके बाद नए सिरे से एक युग की शुरुआत होगी यानि असल में ये फिर से एक भ्रामक दावा है। कॉन्स्पीरेसी थ्योरी देने वाले कुछ लोगों का काम है बस। वास्तव में दुनिया खत्म होने जैसा कुछ नहीं है।

उधर, अमेरिकी अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी नासा का कहना है कि इस दावे का कोई विश्‍वसनीय वैज्ञानिक आधार नहीं है। इस तरह के दावे के केवल फिल्‍मों, किताबों और इंटरनेट पर चल रहे हैं और लोगों के भ्रम पैदा कर रहे हैं, इनका कोई वैज्ञानिक आधार नहीं है।
